My name is AJ Tucker. I'm going to show you how to get a wider lats. The exercise I'm going to show you today is the basic body weight pull-up. It's one of the best exercise I know to get you wider lats. So, I want my arms wider than shoulder width apart. I can make it a little bit wider, I'm more comfortable with this grip. I'm going to lower my body down, let my arms stretch and then I'm going to pull myself back up as fast as I can. Once I get up to this point, I'm going to hold myself as long as I can for three seconds; one, two, three and let my body down slow, get a good stretch, come back up and hold that position. Now, as far as the reps and the intensity, there's many variations. The ones that I'm showing you today, you typically want to do about three to five reps, okay. There are times where I do as many as 20 reps on a regular pull up. But, since I'm holding my weight up and lower myself down in a slow pace, I can only do about three to five reps.
