Hi, my name is Holly Del Rosso, and this is: what does the deadlift build? The deadlift is targeting the entire portion from your lower back all the way down to your calves. You're really gonna start seeing some definition that you've been looking for in your glutes, your hamstrings, a little bit of your lower back, and also your calves. So you can feel confident when you're walking down the beach, or you can also feel more powerful the next sport you perform. Even your day to day activities are gonna feel so much stronger because you performed a dead lift, which works the biggest muscle in your entire body. To set up our deadlift, you're gonna take your feet, bring them hip-width apart, shoulders are back the whole time, engage your shoulder blades, make sure you're squeezing them down and back, neck is neutral as you're looking forward as you hinge your hips forward. Your hands are close to your shins, engaging your glutes as you squeeze up. So your glutes are the first muscle group to fire, so you're just following, your head is just following your hip hinge. So the next time you're carrying your grocery bags, or the next time you're picking up something off the ground, you're gonna feel more stronger and capable of doing that activity because you've been practicing your deadlifts. For best results in this exercise, perform three sets of 10 reps, three times a week.
