Hi, this is Kiya, exercise scientist and creator of WEightless Worldwide, the evolution of mind body fitness. Today, I want to talk to you about how to do a powerful thigh stand. A thigh stand is used in cheerleading stunts, and it's also used in acroyoga, and it's an exercise that happens when one person creates a solid base of support in order to hold another person in their exercise. It's really important to make sure that you're stable, and that you have a good, solid foundation. so find a suction cup with the bottom of your foot, and notice the edges all the way around your foot. Try to anchor your feet into the ground, and then feel the energy rising up into your legs, and pull that energy into the deep core muscles of your lower body, and then up into your abdomen, up into your chest, up into your arms, so that every muscle in your body is connected in a synergistic unit, solid and strong. You're gonna start by bringing the instep of your left foot into the heel of your right foot, and then step way back with the left foot. Find the outside edge of the left foot, keep the left leg slightly straight, just a microbend, and a big bend in the right knee. Flex the glutes, flex the abs, and feel that wave of energy rise up the body to ensure that you are tight and secure in your deep core muscles. This is going to ensure that you have a solid and safe base of support in order to hold your partner or partners. So remember, a thigh stand is an exercise that's used commonly in cheerleading stunts and acroyoga. It's really important to make sure that you're stable and secure before you hold the other person up in the air.
