I'm Greg McLean, I've got some great lat pull-down alternatives for you. The first exercise is a dual high lat pull. The beauty of this exercise is rather than using a lat pull-down bar where you are only using one bar, this forces each side of the body to do the work. Two great reasons why this is important, one boredom, most of us get sick of doing the same old workouts in the gym so trying something different. Second reason being, muscle confusion. The body gets used to doing the same thing all the time so if every Tuesday, Thursday you do lat pull-downs, your body is not really being challenged any more. What's important is we're always throwing different exercises at the muscle to challenge it in different ways which is going to force it to grow and work harder. So in this exercise you're going to be down on your knees, you want nice neutral spine, keeping that chin up so you are looking right into the machine and you want to imagine you've got an orange right in your armpit and you're driving your elbows down and back really trying to squeeze that orange and then coming all the way back up to the starting position. This next exercise, we're going to do a dual lat rotation from the static squat position. The main difference on this exercise is we're really changing the angle in which we are hitting the lats which is going to give us some variety as far as the muscle seeing something different.
