You know, just like women need certain nutrients to prevent breast cancer and also during pregnancy, men definitely need certain nutrients as well to prevent prostate cancer, to increase testosterone and libido, and to stay lean and just healthy and active overall. And here are some of the best ones. They may not look very good, but oysters are extremely high in zinc. Zinc is such an important mineral for libido and testosterone as well as preventing prostate cancer. Then bananas, such a simple snack, but really powerful nutrition, especially for potassium to help decrease muscle cramps. Then, as far as carbohydrates, men typically get enough carbohydrates, but a lot of times it's the wrong ones. You want to stay away from white flour and from processed foods, and go for whole grains. Some of the best ones are oatmeal, which helps reduce cholesterol, it has great fiber, as well as quinoa, which is one of my favorites because not only is it full of protein, 8 grams per cup, but it also has lutein, and lutein is excellent again for preventing prostate cancer. Then, such a great healthy food is fatty fish, such as tuna and salmon, full of omega-3 so important for brain health, so anti-inflammatory, which is really important for many reasons, and as well cardiovascular health you guys, get your fish in, get those omega-3s, lower your triglycerides. Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables are so important for cancer prevention, especially for prostate and bladder cancer, which men are more prevalent to get than women. So, they say, about five servings a week, which is just a cup a day, greatly reduces your risk of these cancers. As far as nuts, my favorite nut, it's amazing, the Brazil nut. Look at the size of it, it's so beautiful. Full of selenium, which is great for reducing cholesterol, as well as reducing blood clots, which reduces your risk of stroke. And finally, the all important tomato. Very important to get your lycopene in, which fights free radicals, which also reduces your risk of cancer. It also decreases macular degeneration of the eyes. So, here are so many great tasting delicious foods that you can feed your man, and let them live as long as women, because they say women live seven years longer, so now men, you can catch up.
