Hi, I'm Ryan George, and today we're gonna talk about deadlifts for traps. So deadlifts are one of the best exercises you can do it really works almost every muscle and so today we're gonna go over how to get some extra work on the traps when you're doing it. So when doing deadlifts for the traps most of the movement is just gonna be like a normal deadlift it's just the end of the movement that you'll kind of exaggerate to add the trap work into it and you can do deadlifts with dumbbells like I have. You can do it with a barbell. However you do it it's pretty much the same thing. So your feet about hip width apart maybe a little bit wider. You're gonna sit straight back, try not to let your knees go over your toes, as you get to the bottom of the movement you drive straight up through the heels, you extend up and then for the traps when you get to the top of the movement you're gonna pull your shoulders up and back at the same time and then release and go back down. It's when you go into your second rep it's the same thing you sit back you drive up as you get to the top you pull your shoulders blades up and back and that's how you're gonna do the movement to add the traps. Okay so remember when you want to add some trap work to your deadlifts you just do a normal deadlift and just remember to bring the shoulder blades up and back at the same time and you'll get that extra work.
