Hey, everyone. This is Jacques Laventure, your fitness expert, and today I'm going to show you how to use a lifting belt on a bench press. One of the benefits about using a lifting belt it forces your body, your core to be engaged the whole entire time and we have this natural arch and so when you wear the belt, it forces that natural arch and you have proper form when lifting bench. So with the lifting belt we're going to place it on our lower back giving the back support. It's real important that we keep that natural arch when lifting. So I'm going to start by keeping the elbows above the nipple line and then we're going to push through, bring it down slowly, come down and make sure that the elbow doesn't go below our shoulder line, keep it engaged, squeezing, keeping that natural arch, come down slow. And if you want to widen the grip, there's more muscle recruitment that's involved in the whole process of the bench press. So keep in mind when you do wear the lifting belt, that you want to keep that natural arch and push through each rep and breathe through it.
