Hi, I'm Denise Druce. Let's look at ways to stretch the Serratus Anterior, that's the large muscle here on the side of your body. And I'll show you three great stretches for this body part. The Serratus Anterior is a zig-zag shaped muscle that runs along the side of your rib cage. So, I'm going to show you three great ways to stretch this muscle. The first is, simply a standing lateral stretch. And you'll just take one arm over your head, take a hold of that wrist with your opposite hand. And then, just stretch your side body as long as you can. So, the side that you're stretching, you'll push down with that foot. So, you really feel a good stretch through the whole side of the body, but predominantly right there in the ribs. Then the second thing you can do is go to a doorway or maybe a pole and place your hand there, just slightly higher than shoulder height. And then, start to rotate your body away from your hand. So, you feel the stretch a lot in your chest and your shoulders, but you're also opening up this part of the rib cage, in the Serratus Anterior. And then, the third stretch is to roll away from that pole. So, holding just slightly higher than your shoulder and twisting your body away.
