Hi, I'm Jesse Harding, and today we're gonna be talking about how long it takes to get your yellow belt in Kempo. So if you're interested in earning your yellow belt in Kempo, just know that the requirements and the time will vary from school to school and in different styles of Kempo. Now it only takes a few seconds to put a yellow belt on someone's waist, but it actually takes an average of two to four months of training to earn your yellow belt. During the time where you're training to earn that yellow belt you're gonna be learning a lot of the fundamentals and the basics of Kempo. You'll be learning some etiquette, such as the bow and basics of meditation. You'll be learning calisthenics, doing different exercises to develop strength and coordination and balance. You'll be learning different stances and postures. You'll be learning striking and kicking and blocking, carrying and footwork, and how to tie all those elements together, and when all of those elements get blended together, then that forms the basis of our self defense skill. The belts of Kempo are actually a form of goal setting, and they help us to be clear on what we are doing on our journey, so at each level, at each belt, there's different goals that we have, and we often say that the white belt is the most important belt because it's the beginning of your journey, and yellow belt is where you've done enough training to now go to the next level.
