Hi, I'm Jake Taylor, professional long driver and trick shot artist out here to tell you about the difference between golf tees. Now golf tees allow a player to tee up the ball and can only be used on the tee box. There are many different characteristics to golf tees which allow you to shape your shots and allow the ball to perform differently. Although slight, it is still effective. Shorter tees are utilized more for the irons, whereas the longer tees are geared more towards the driver. With the larger the head, the more the ball has to be teed up in order to find the sweet spot on the face. Now the amount that you tee the ball up, has to do with where your swing plane is. If your swing plane is on the upswing, you can actually use a higher lofted tee in order to produce the optimum trajectory for the golf ball. Additionally, science has allowed for lower friction tees to enter the market. Now these tees such as zero friction tee or mirror tee, equates a lower spin on the ball which equates to more distance off the tee.
