Hi, I'm Joe Carson and this is how to stretch someone's back. Flexibility with all of our muscle is incredibly important but for a lot of people they carry a lot of pent up stress and tension in their back muscles, a couple of critical stretches to do is for the upper back and for the lower back. The first one you will have a person to be in a seated position with their legs straight out in front of them with their torso vertical and with their legs fully extended but not locked, you will take a hold of their arms and you will pull them straightforward. Now you will have them to let you know when the stretch is nice and tight but not painful. You will hold the stretch for 20 to 30 seconds. Next you will have the person to lie flat on their back, legs fully extended. You will grab the person's feet just directly below the heels and you will elevate the feet where their upper back, their lower back comes up off of the ground and again you will want to go to the point of limit of flexibility and you want to hold that stretch nice and tight for 20 to 30 seconds, slowly bring their feet back down and allow them to come to relaxed position.
