Hi, my name is Porsche Ing, and I'm here to talk to you about how to detect heart rate. Heart rate is very important because you don't want to over train, you don't want to get injured or cause yourself undue pain and also, you don't want to under train. Because if you have a specific goal that you want to reach, you want to make sure you reach that goal. There is three main methods that we use to check heart rate. The first one is the wrist. So you take two fingers and slide it into the groove right underneath the wrist. The second method is you take your two fingers and you feel right down from the jawline area into the neck and the third method of course is the heart rate monitor that you wear and the heart rate watch. So those are the three methods that we use to check heart rate. There is another method that's very common. It's called the rate of perceived exertion and basically what that is, it's based on how you feel, if you are working too hard or if you are not working hard enough.
