Hi, my name is Kari Pearce, and I'm a personal trainer at the New York Health and Racquet Club. I'm gonna show you how to do a back flip, for a girl. It's important to be able to know how to do a back flip for a girl because many girls like doing gymnastics, and this is a skill you must know how to do. Doing a back flip, for a girl, is the same as doing a back flip for a boy. You will need a nice, high vertical jump, as well as core strength. In order to perform a back flip, start with your arms up by your ears. You will then swing your arms down. As you bring your arms up, jump as high as you can off the ground. You will then bring your knees into your chest. Once you have finished three quarters of the rotation, you should see the ground. Once you see the ground, you will slowly open up the flip, but make sure you keep your knees nice and bent so that when you land, you don't land locked kneed, or hurt your knees. A drill that you can do for a back tuck are tuck jumps. When performing tuck jumps, make sure that you don't tuck until you are the top of the jump. This is similar to a back tuck in that you don't tuck your knees until you are at the highest point of the jump.
