Are the legs important in wresting? Yes, the legs are very important in wrestling. They're the foundation and the base of our athleticness, our body, our strength, and every way that we move starting from our wrestling stance to our take-downs to our stand-up to our reversals, even top control, all involves our legs. The flexibility and the strength are very key. Also, being able to move in different directions and the mobility is also crucial in having good leg agility, strength and flexibility. You must work on that. Always keep safety in mind, especially with a full contact sport like wrestling. Make sure that any techniques or moves that you may try on your own or with a partner are done with somebody knowledgeable and that you have gone through these moves with an expert coach or a teacher that knows how to do this, or an expert martial artist. This can be dangerous unless done in the proper way.
