Hi, I'm Linden Schaffer. And I'm here today to talk to you about which foods you should be eating for optimal nutrition. The best way to get optimal nutrition out of your food is by eating nutrient dense food. So, if you start with something like fresh fruits and vegetables which are excellent because they are high in nutrients and low in calories. Take a look at something like oranges, which is great because it's high in vitamin C and fiber. Blueberries which are very high antioxidants. And for me, always end up in my smoothies. Kale which you can find me eating constantly, both raw and cooked. It's very high in fiber and in vitamin K. And sunflower seeds which are amazing. You can eat these raw, you can throw them in your salad. But they have so many fabulous nutrients and vitamins that they're going to keep you full and definitely give you that crunch. If you're looking for whole grains to provide you optimal nutrition, think about something like steel cut oats. This is a great source of fiber and something that's really important to note is that it actually lowers LDL, which is our bad cholesterol. Another grain which is definitely in the super food category is quinoa. This is really high in fiber, it has amino acids which are great for you and it's actually a full complete protein. So, if you're looking for a quick, healthy snack, I love eating apples because they are high in antioxidants and fiber and they have a great crunch to them. Dipping them almond butter is something that I also love to do because it's super tasty. It'll keep you fill longer. And almond butter, actually it's very high in iron and calcium and fiber. All things that are great for you. Nutrient dense foods are prefect to have all times of day. The good news is they keep you more satisfied, less hungry and actually stabilize your blood sugar. So, you're feeling any of these highs and lows. So, find some of your favorite foods that are really high i nutrients and low in calories and enjoy your food today.
