Deep cleaning pores can involve a variety of treatments involving expensive products, but there are several home remedies to deep clean pores at home using items found in the kitchen. Deep-cleaning treatments involve loosening and exfoliating dead skin, and remove dirt and debris from clogged pores. Treatments can be done once a week---treat skin 1 to 2 weeks prior to a special engagement to ensure skin will be toned and blemish-free.
Step 1
Mix 1 tbsp. unflavored gelatin with 1 tbsp. milk in a small bowl. Stir well until all clumps are gone and a smooth paste remains. Warm mixture in the microwave for 10 seconds. Apply to face with fingers or use a small cosmetics brush and allow to dry fully. Peel off mask.
Step 2
Boil 1 cup water. Add dried herbs, such as peppermint or lavender, to water and allow to lightly cool. Set warm bowl on table and place face over the steam. Drape a towel over the bowl and steam face for 5 to 10 minutes. Apply oil-free moisturizer to face once steam is complete.
Step 3
Exfoliate skin to remove dirt, debris and dead skin from clogging pores. Mix 1 cup sugar and 3 tbsp. olive oil. Add additional oil until a paste-like substance is created. Apply to clean skin and massage. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Rinse well.
