Facial bleaching is common in different cultures, as well as for people who want to remove blemishes, scars and freckles from their skin. Though a variety of skin care creams and lotions are available to purchase, natural ingredients commonly found in most Americans' kitchens can aid in facial bleaching. From lemons to potatoes, ingredients are inexpensive and are easily purchased at a local grocery store. Remedies are simple to apply and can be created in several minutes.
Orange Citrus Mask
Peel one navel orange or other citrus fruit, such as a mandarin or grapefruit, and add both fruit and peel to your blender. Add a small amount of water. Mix until a paste is formed. Place the mixture on your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse your face at the kitchen sink preferably equipped with a garbage disposal so that the mixture can easily be rinsed off and not clog drains.
Cut open three lemons and squeeze the juice into a small container. Apply to your face twice a day using a small cotton ball. Refrigerate juice when not in use.
Slice one potato into small sections. Place over entire face and let sit for 10 minutes. The starch in the potatoes is a natural bleaching agent. Puree the potato in a blender to make a paste if the slices don't stay staying on your face.
Mix 1 tbsp. turmeric powder with one freshly squeezed lime. Mix well and massage onto face. The paste will naturally remove a suntan that has darkened the skin. The lime is an additional natural bleaching agent.
Soak ½ cup almonds in water overnight. Remove shells and mash almonds into a soft paste. Add 1 tbsp. honey. Apply to face and let sit for 15 minutes. Skin will appear whiter and have an increased glow.
