Wheat germ oil contains vitamins D and E, both of which are essential to skin health and treating scars, according to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology." Wheat germ oil can be purchased at health food stores and is safe to use on all skin types, according to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice." Apply wheat germ oil to your scars daily for eight to 12 weeks to effectively treat your scars.

Step 1

Cleanse your body with body wash and a loofah each day. According to "Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual," the loofah will provide gentle exfoliation, sloughing away dead skin cells and promoting healthy cell turnover to reduce the appearance of scars.

Step 2

Massage wheat germ oil into your scars after showering and again before bed each day. If you are unable to locate wheat germ oil, purchase wheat germ supplements from a health food store. Puncture a capsule and squeeze out its contents to obtain wheat germ oil.

Step 3

Allow the wheat germ oil to be absorbed into your skin, then massage shea butter into your scars. The shea butter will further hydrate your scars, diminishing their appearance, according to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology."
