Based on a technique referred to as "lean phasing", ChaLEAN Extreme is a structured, 90-day program that debunks the myth that heavy weights will bulk you up. Led by fitness instructor, Chalean Johnson, the program preaches the idea that pure muscle melts away fat, advocating that resistance training builds lean, hard muscle. The program operates in three sculpting phases known as Burn, Push and Lean. The Burn phase includes three separate workouts: Burn Circuit 1, Burn Circuit 2 and Burn Circuit 3. Insanity

Insanity's rhetorical question, "Are you ready to dig deep?" says it all. The program, not for the faint of heart, prides itself on possibly being the hardest home fitness program ever contained on DVD. Operating on a technique referred to as Max Interval training, Insanity is a 60-day program that puts your endurance levels to the test through lengthy drills, a brief rest period, and back into pulse-pounds moves all over again. Alternating between aerobic and anaerobic intervals while putting forth your most intense effort, according to Beachbody.com you can "...burn up to 1,000 calories in an hour and get the most insane body in 60 days."
