Eczema encompasses a variety of skin conditions that cause dry, flaky, exceedingly itchy and red skin. Most commonly affecting children, eczema is typically outgrown, but for some it can be a lifelong recurring condition. Creating an anti-inflammatory diet is one tool that you can use to minimize and manage eczema flare-ups.

Actions

• Identify food allergies to dairy, soy, wheat, citrus, eggs and/or nuts.
• Eliminate foods that worsen symptoms.
• Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
• Increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Eat more yellow and dark green vegetables.
• Drink at least 64 oz of water daily.
• Reduce consumption of processed foods.
