Weight Limit for the Weslo Cadence 920 Treadmill

The Weslo Cadence 920 is a motorized treadmill with very basic functions. It is an older model machine that is no longer available new, although you may find used models for sale. Although the Cadence 920 was originally produced in the 1990s, the weight capacity for this treadmill is the same as current Weslo treadmills available in April 2011.

Specifications

The Weslo Cadence 920 is a motorized treadmill with a 2.5 horsepower motor. It has a speed range of 0 to 10 mph. The speed controller is a knob that you turn clockwise to increase the speed and counterclockwise to reduce the speed. The maximum weight capacity of the Cadence 920 is 250 lbs. Weslo cautions anyone who weighs more than 250 lbs. to not use this treadmill as it could damage the machine or cause injury to the user.

Weslo Weight Limits

As of April 2011, the Weslo website (weslo.com) features eight treadmills, including newer and more advanced Cadence models. All eight models have a maximum weight capacity of 250 lbs. This is true for both the motorized and manual Weslo treadmills. Although the Cadence 920 may not have the technology of some of the newer treadmills, such as a power incline feature, the design and weight limit specification is the same.

Features

The Cadence 920 doesn't have many advanced features. The console has a water-bottle holder and a slot for your remote control. The incline is manually adjustable; you cannot adjust it in the middle of a workout. You have to step off the machine and adjust the incline legs to one of four positions: flat, 3 percent incline, 5 percent incline or 10 percent incline. The console displays the elapsed time, speed, distance and approximate calories burned.

Considerations

Although Weslo sets a maximum user weight limit for its treadmills, you may not feel comfortable on the Cadence 920 if you weigh close to, but not quite, 250 lbs. Treadmill-ratings-review.com recommends choosing a treadmill that has a weight capacity of 50 to 75 lbs. more than your current weight. The website cautions that treadmill manufacturers may overstate the weight limits and especially if the treadmill is small, like the Cadence 920, it could feel wobbly if you weigh close to the stated limit.
