MELISA BROWN: Hi, my name is Melisa Brown and I'm a licensed massage therapist here in Miami, Florida. I'm with U Need A Massage. In this clip, we're going to be talking about using your palms when you're massaging the arms. I'm going to be using the palm of my hand, not the fingers, and I'm not going to be using the top part of my hands, the palms. I'm going to be using the bottom V, where our pinkie and our thumb come together. These are the muscles here essentially that I'm going to be using and what you want to use for most of your massages anyway, so your fingers won't get so tired. Now, I'm going to be pressing down. And I'm facing the arm and I'm not looking this way or any other way. I'm facing the arm. My trunk is facing the arm, and I'm going towards the shoulder. Now, my back foot is what's pushing me and that's what's giving me the depth or the pressure if you want to call it that. And I'm just gliding up towards the shoulder, giving it even pressure on both hands circling at the top. I can also do the inside of the arm. I'm holding the wrist here like a platter. I'm pressing the inside of the arm going up and I'm trying to keep my rhythm the whole time, the same pace. I don't want to alter the pace too much and I'm keeping it at an even pace.
