Orange oil is a yellow-orange oil with a sweet, tangy aroma. Extracted from orange peels by cold-pressing, orange oil is watery and has a shelf life of six months. The oil is non-toxic and non-irritating, however, it is photo-toxic and should not be used prior to prolonged periods of sunlight exposure. Orange oil has various domestic, industrial and medicinal uses. It is used as a flavoring for desserts, candies and beverages. It's industrial uses include soaps, cleansers, room fresheners, sprays lotions and anti-aging creams. Orange oil has many wonderful medicinal benefits as well.

Mood Lifter

Orange oil is used as vapor therapy for colds, flu and to relieve tension and stress. Its sweet scent makes it a favorite for aromatherapy. The scent is very aromatic and lifts the mood. It relieves stress, resulting in a relaxed and happy feeling. It also helps you fall asleep. Regular use of orange oil is also believed to cure a low libido, frigidity, impotence and erectile problems, due to the oil's mild aphrodisiac properties.

Skin Benefits

Used in a cream or lotion, orange oil helps the lymphatic system detoxify skin. It is good for treating dermatitis, acne and dry or irritated skin. It stimulates the formation of collagen, which contributes to younger looking skin. Orange oil is also an anti-septic. It prevents tetanus, sepsis or other bacterial infection of wounds.

Digestive System

Orange oil relaxes the abdominal and anal muscles and helps in the removal of gases from the gastrointestinal system. It also prevents gas from forming. This is a good remedy for persons suffering with chronic gas. Orange oil also aids detoxification by promoting urination to remove toxins such as uric acid, bile and excess salts from the body. It also provides relief from dyspepsia and constipation.

Anti-Inflammatory

Orange oil relieves external and internal inflammation caused by illness or injury, side effects of medicine or accidental ingestion of poison.

Cleaning Agent

Pure orange oil is a powerful solvent and is so strong it can melt plastic. It is an essential ingredient in many household cleansers. It removes grease and grime from nearly any surfaces such as tires, floors, walls, grills, stoves and ovens. It even removes crayon marks.

Insect Killer

An active ingredient in orange oil is a d-limonene. D-limonene is known as an effective insecticide particularly against termites, although it is just as effective against flies, ants, mosquitoes and crickets. Orange oil is a good non-toxic way to rid your home of insects without worrying about toxic odors being left behind.
