Cones / Toppings

Any cones or toppings that you add to your ice cream will add additional calories, so keep this in mind. Use the healthier options as toppings, such as fruit or nuts. A cake cone has fewer calories than a sugar or waffle cone.

Serving Size

Andy's Frozen Custard website also provides a list of the servings sizes it uses for cones, concretes, shakes and sundaes. Cones come in 5.5-oz., 7.5-oz., 11-oz. and 13-oz. varieties. Concretes come in 10.5-oz., 14.5-oz. and 21-oz. varieties. Shakes and malts come in 16-oz. and 24-oz. varieties. Finally, sundaes are usually 8.5 oz.

Interpreting Facts

You have to interpret the information. According to the American Dietetic Association, if something provides 20 percent or more of your daily value, that food is "high" for that nutrient. Andy's Frozen Custard states that, per serving, both chocolate and vanilla frozen custard provide about 30 percent of your daily value for saturated fat and about 15 percent of your daily value for total fat. Additionally, nearly half of the calories per serving are from fat. Keep in mind that any item you purchase is more than one serving of custard as they are all greater than 4 oz.

Allergy Information

The frozen custard products at Andy's Frozen Custard are gluten-free foods (the cones will contain gluten). The custard products do contain milk and eggs.
