Function
NO Xplode functions as a pre-workout supplement to increase muscle strength and endurance during intense training. BSN's proprietary blend contains naturally derived ingredients that may boost energy, nitric oxide levels and buffer lactic acid in muscle tissue. This acid by-product of energy production limits muscle contraction because your muscles cannot continue to work effectively once they reach fatigue.
Ingredients
L-Arginine AKG, or alpha-ketoglutarate, acts as a direct precursor to NO, or nitric oxide, according to Jordana Brown in "Everything You Need to NO." L-Citriulline malate and alpha-ketoglutarate, L-histidine, rutacarpine and NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) further enhance this effect and contribute to intramuscular energy production. Increasing NO levels lead to enhanced energy, faster fat burning and more muscle building, according to Jerry Brainum in "Natural Anabolics." NO Xplode also contains several different forms of creatine, beta alanine and an energy matrix including caffeine.
Effects
By decreasing lactic acid buildup in muscle cells, NO Xplode may boost muscular endurance during exercise, allowing you to train longer and harder. The creatine analogs help muscles produce ATP or energy more efficiently for more power and strength, according to Jim Stoppani, Ph.D., in "Supplements 101." Creatine also pairs with glycerol and carbohydrates to drive nutrients and water into muscle cells for increased muscle volume. The NO precursors further support nutrient delivery by expanding blood vessels for more oxygen-rich blood to reach working muscles.
Considerations
Not all users respond to NO Xplode the same way, and you should vary your pre-workout dosing based on your individual tolerance and preferences. BSN recommends one to three scoops of NO Xplode 30 to 45 minutes before a workout. Users should always start with the lowest effective dosage and increase as needed. NO Xplode contains a relatively large dose of caffeine and may not be right for all users. In addition, the creatine, NO precursors and energy supplements may not fit into your fitness and training programs.
Warning
Do not take NO Xplode if you have a pre-existing medical condition such as high or low blood pressure, heart disease, liver or thyroid problems, anxiety, depression, seizures, diabetes, anemia, enlarged prostate or psychiatric disease. BSN warns that you should not use this product if you are pregnant, susceptible to dehydration, exposed to intense heat or if you take any medication. They recommend reducing your dosage or discontinuing use if you experience sleeplessness, tremors, dizziness, nervousness, headaches or heart palpitations. NO Xplode is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 or over the age of 50.
