Advocare is a company that markets a line of nutritional supplements that include energy, weight-loss, nutrition and sports performance products. According to Advocare, all of these products promote a healthy lifestyle with ingredients that provide the necessary nutrients to help you achieve your goals. Advocare developed its products to match specific health-related goals, so specific Advocare product will determine the exact ingredients and quantities of them used in the supplements.

Amino Acids

Advocare products contain all of the essential amino acids. Your body needs essential amino acids to function properly. Amino acids make protein in your body. Additionally, amino acids facilitate the synthesis of proteins and enzymes in your body. Your body can not naturally produce the essential amino acids. Therefore, it is important you get these amino acids through food or supplements. Advocare products are a source of all of the essential amino acids including isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, thenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine.

Vitamins And Minerals

Advocare products also contain many essential vitamins and minerals. They contain vitamins A, B1, B2, B-5, B-6, C, D, E and K. The exact quantities of the vitamins will depend on the specific formulation used in the Advocare product. Minerals found in Advocare products include chromium, copper, fluorine, manganese, selenium and zinc.

Tyrosine is an amino acid involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters in your brain including epinephrine, neuroepinephrine, and dopamine. Advocare products contain L-tyrosine, the common amino acid form of tyrosine that is a key component to protein molecules. Your body also uses this amino acid as a hormone in the production of energy and as a hormone in the adrenal, thyroid and pituitary glands. According to the “Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine,” L-tyrosine can improve both focus and mental energy.

Advocare products also contain caffeine. Caffeine increases energy by stimulating the central nervous system. It does this by increasing norepinephrine excretion and raising brain function as well as heart rate and blood pressure. This can provide a temporary increase in energy.
