Green tea pills contain concentrated amounts of the nutrients and polyphenols in green tea made form the camellia sinensis plant. These include powerful antioxidants like epigallocatechin-3-gallate, or EGCG. Antioxidants help scour free radicals from your blood, helping to prevent certain cancers and possibly off-setting some of the effects of aging. Green tea supplements also contain caffeine, which is why they are marketed as diet aids. The best way to take green tea pills at night is to make sure they are decaffeinated green tea, to avoid disrupting your sleep.

Step 1

Read the label on your green tea supplements to ensure that they are decaffeinated and to find the proper dosage.

Step 2

Place the appropriate number of green tea pills on the back of your tongue.

Step 3

Wash the green tea pills down with 4 to 6 oz. of water, making sure that they do not get stuck in your throat.
