The chakras are believed to define how a person is feeling, mentally and physically. You cannot see them since they are just spinning pinwheels of energy, but you can feel them, especially when something is off, if you are experiencing emotional problems or a physical illness. There are seven chakras in the body, each one attached to a particular organ and each representing a color on the spectrum. Some believe strengthening them is vital to having a balanced and peaceful life.
Step 1
Lie face up on your exercise mat.
Step 2
Take your left hand and place it a few inches above your root chakra, or just above your pelvis. Move it in a counterclockwise motion for roughly three minutes.
Step 3
Shake your left hand to the side of you -- this will remove any negative energy that it has collected.
Step 4
Place your right hand at the same place and move it in a clockwise circle. While you are doing this, take deep breaths and imagine your negative energy is being removed.
Step 5
Repeat Steps 2 through 4 with your other six chakras -- just below your belly button (the spleen), just above it (the solar plexus), the heart, the throat, the eyebrows, and the crown (the top of the head).
Tips and Warnings
- While performing this exercise, breath in and out very slowly and deeply, similarly to how you breath during meditation.
