Medications for the Urinary System

Your urinary system consists of your bladder and kidneys. Sometimes, bacteria can get into your kidneys and bladder and cause a urinary tract infection or pyelonephritis. Symptoms of these infections include painful urination and flank pain. In some cases, pregnancy and trauma can lead to relaxed bladder muscle tissues and an overactive bladder. This is a condition in which you cannot control urination. There are specific medications to treat problems of the urinary system.
