Side Effects of Bupropion 300 XL

You may experience drowsiness, agitation or headache while taking this medication. These side effects may diminish over time as your body gets used to this medication. Ensuring an adequate amount of sleep nightly will help you to feel more awake during daytime hours. You may treat your headache with acetaminophen or ibuprofen as per your doctors instruction.

Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting are commonly reported side effects while on bupropion. Eating a bland diet and avoiding spicy foods may help. Having smaller meals more frequently is advised. Ginger and peppermint have also been known to help alleviate nausea. If vomiting becomes severe, you run the risk of dehydration. Make sure you have an adequate intake of fluids. In the event that vomiting does not subside, you should contact your health care provider.

Dry Mouth

You may experience a dry mouth while using this drug. Some people describe it as "cotton mouth." Make sure that you drink an adequate amount of fluids throughout the day. You may want to carry mints or lozenges with you as well. A good mouthwash may also help your mouth to feel more refreshed.

Weight Loss and Constipation

Weight loss and constipation are commonly reported side effects of bupropion. Eating a diet high in nutritional value with ample calories and fat is essential. To alleviate constipation, drink fluids throughout the day and increase fruits and vegetables. You may also consider using an over-the-counter stool softener if approved by your doctor. If you are unable to control your weight loss, you should contact your physician. They may be able to refer you to a nutritionist for counseling.

Tremors

You may experience tremors while taking this medication. Tremors are uncontrollable shaking of a part of your body. They may be mild or more severe, where they may have an impact on your daily routine. Tremors should be reported to your physician.
