Ketogenic Diets

Stomach Growling on the Ketogenic Diet

Doctors recommend the ketogenic diet as a therapy for children with seizure disorders, but bodybuilders and dieters also follow ketogenic diets. The ketogenic diet is also called the modified Atkins diet when used to treat seizures in adults. Some ketogenic diets restrict calories, so you could experience stomach growling from hunger. Signals from your brain to the stomach initiate the stomach contractions and acid churning that produce stomach growling. Don't start a ketogenic diet without your doctor's approval.
