Fenugreek has been used for hundreds of years to treat various conditions, according to Drugs.com. It is commonly used in sinus infections because of its anti-inflammatory properties that help to promote sinus health. Sinus infections are one of the most common secondary infections from getting the common cold, according to the Mayo Clinic. Sinus Infections

A sinus infection is the inflammation of the soft tissue in nasal passages. The excessive pressure from the swollen sinuses can cause facial tenderness in the eyes, cheeks and upper teeth. You may develop a thick and yellowish-green discharge. Side Effects

Fenugreek is not recommended for pregnant women because it has been shown to stimulate the uterus, causing contractions. Dyspepsia and abdominal bloating have been reported as common side effects of taking large amounts of fenugreek. As with any herb, you may experience an allergic reaction. If you develop symptoms, such as flushing, lip swelling and shortness of breath, call 911. Fenugreek may cause adverse drug interacts.
