There are various nighttime appetite suppressants available in the market. These include fiber pills, diet pills, as well as other natural supplements. There are also certain types of food that act as nighttime appetite suppressants, helping you stay fuller longer and preventing you from going back to the fridge to satisfy a late-night craving. For these suppressants to become effective in curbing your late night appetite, plan to take them around dinner time. Before you alter your diet, make sure to seek the advice of a medical professional.

Fiber pills

Fiber pills are natural supplements that suppress your hunger. Naturalnews.com states, "Fiber tablets or capsules would include psyllium husk, glucomannan, oat bran fiber, apple pectin fiber, or other natural fibers." These fiber pills expand in your stomach and makes you feel full longer. Drink one to two glasses of water when you drink these pills to help ease them into your stomach and prevent any digestive tract issues.

Diet Pills

An example of a diet pill is hoodia, derived from the plant hoodia gordonii, a type of African herb that helps to suppress your hunger. It works by turning off hunger signals in your brain, helping you cut back on food and skip unnecessary snacking. CBS News describes that the plant looks like a "small, spiky pickle," and when a CBS News correspondent tried the original plant, she concluded that it worked. Companies like Hoodia Max and Trimspa have processed the plant and made it into pill form, which has made hoodia pills convenient to access. Another type of plant that works similarly to hoodia is caralluma, which has filling agents that suppress hunger.

Natural Supplements

Natural supplements that suppress hunger include chia seeds and super foods. Chia seeds are dark seeds that you mix into a beverage or a meal, and this contributes to helping you feel fuller quickly. Super foods are supplements that are densely made from vegetables and antioxidant-rich foods like fruits and mushrooms. They are available in powdered or beverage form. These super foods provide you with the nutrients you need and helps to curb your appetite, which makes you eat less food.

Food

Suppressants can also be in the form of food. Green leafy vegetables suppresses hunger because it fills up your stomach without adding a huge amount of calories. Natural News states that green leafy vegetables and fruits like apples turn off hunger signals. They contain fiber that helps satiate your appetite. Protein shakes also help suppress hunger since they signal your brain that you are full, when in fact, you've only consumed a glass of protein shake that contains 100 to 300 calories.
