The CortiSlim supplement is marketed as a cortisol-blocker, claiming to reduce the production of cortisol, which is a stress hormone that may contribute to weight gain. CortiSlim contains a proprietary blend of nutrients to help you build muscle, burn fat and reduce stress, according to the manufacturer's website. These claims have not been evaluated by the FDA. CortiSlim Supplement
The CortiSlim diet plan involves taking the supplement on a regular basis to help increase your results. The CortiSlim 3 Complex Weight Loss Formula includes three components -- Leptiplex, Cortiplex and Insutrol -- to help you lose weight, according to the manufacturer's website. Leptiplex contains a blend of green tea and caffeine to help burn fat, Cortiplex consists of chamomile and l-theanine to help reduce stress levels and Insutrol is contains banaba leaf extract and vanadyl sulfate to help increase lean muscle. Start with two capsules daily for the first week of the diet plan, increase to four capsules per day the second week and progress to six capsules per day during the third week and thereafter. Take two capsules with each meal.
Healthy Foods
The CortiSlim diet plan calls for a healthy, balanced diet to help increase your results. Consume a balance of proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats. Include a variety of protein sources such as tuna, chicken breasts, ground turkey, low-fat dairy, soybeans, legumes and low-fat dairy, complex carbohydrates such as bran cereal, whole grain breads, vegetables, fruits and brown rice and unsaturated fats such as olive oil and nuts. Natural foods take longer to digest, which helps keep you feeling full with fewer calories and helps sustain your energy levels during the day. Stay away from processed foods, such as frozen dinners, and pre-seasoned foods that contain large amounts of chemical preservatives, sodium, fats and refined sugars.
Meal Preparation
The CortiSlim diet plan recommends preparing your meals ahead of time to help eliminate the temptation to eat unhealthy foods out of convenience, which may contribute to weight gain. When grocery shopping, buy a week's worth of food at a time. Take one day per week to prepare your menu for the week. Include a serving of protein and carbohydrates at each meal, such as 2 to 4 oz. of grilled whitefish, 1 cup of green beans and one-half of a baked sweet potato. Package your meals in individual storage containers and label them with the date and time so your meals are readily available. Consume a meal every three hours to help keep you feeling full during the day so you are less likely to overeat. Include 12 oz. of water in your diet plan six times per day.
Considerations
Consult your physician before taking a supplement for weight loss. Ask your doctor about possible complications associated with caffeine and green tea extract, especially if you currently have health conditions such as high blood pressure. Do not take CortiSlim if you are pregnant or nursing. Immediately stop taking CortiSlim if you begin to experience adverse side effects.
