Although there are many probiotic brands to choose from, they do not all meet the same quality standards. One of the most important qualities to look for is the strain or strains of good bacteria that are used in the product. Then there is the form of probiotic you prefer, which can include drinks or smoothies, capsules, powders and tablets. Since most brands do not produce probiotics in all these forms, consumers will often choose two or more brands to meet the needs of their lifestyles.

Culterelle is a probiotic company that uses a particular strain of good bacteria called
Lactobacillus GG. This bacteria is a product of over 25 years of research and is also one of the world's most studied. The ability to withstand the effects of strong acids in the stomach along with intestinal bile is what sets this strain apart from others. Culterelle produces four different products that are geared towards overall digestive health and a healthy immune system in the form of capsules. All except one are dairy-free. There is a version for children in powder form that can be mixed with a cool beverage.
