Founder
David Wolfe is considered an expert in the raw food movement and is featured in the documentary "Food Matters." He has a master's degree in nutrition and has authored several books, including "The Sunfood Diet Success System" and "Naked Chocolate." He offers consulting for individuals, with celebrity clients including Woody Harrelson, Tony Robbins and Steve Jobs. He promotes the health and beauty effects of a raw diet and particularly of raw chocolate and other superfoods--foods considered to provide health benefits due to their high concentrations of nutrients, antioxidants and other beneficial components.
Food Products
Sunfood sells products under its own brand name, such as cacao, herbs, bee products, and fruits and nuts. Many of these are organic and sustainably harvested. Fruits include acai, noni, barberry, mangosteen and camu camu. Herbs include maca, milk thistle, cat's claw and chuchuhuasi. Sunfood also produces and sells mesquite products, agave nectar and coconut oil. The Sun Is Shining green superfood product is made from raw, organic ingredients such as vegetables, algae, sea vegetables and probiotics; the company originally sold it as Nature's First Food.
Health & Beauty Products
The Sunfood brand also includes supplements and beauty products. The company offers its own Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) in capsule, lotion and powder forms, as well as its Oceans Alive marine phytoplankton. Sunfood sells hand-crafted soaps made from natural ingredients and a natural sunscreen with an SPF of 30.
Other Products
The company sells books, CDs and DVDs on many topics, including raw nutrition, body care and spirituality. Appliances for sale include the Vita-Mix blender, two sizes of Excalibur dehydrator and several brands and models of juicers. Appliances are not limited to the kitchen, as Sunfood also offers grounding technology for beds, shower filters and a device intended to eliminate pathogens from the body using electric currents.

Sunfood Nutrition sponsors an online community for raw food enthusiasts and those interested in the movement. The website offers social networking features including a forum, chat, personals and private messaging. As of late 2009, the site had more than 11,000 members.
Practices
Sunfood shares information about its green practices on its website. Its environmentally friendly practices include the use of recycled and biodegradable packaging materials, and its facility was built using recycled materials and organic paints.
