Used by many cosmetic and healthcare companies in the production of moisturizers and lip balm, beeswax is the material honeybees use to craft their combs. The product is obtained by melting the honeycomb in boiling water. An inexpensive stabilizer, beeswax is an ideal base for a homemade facial moisturizer. Combine the beeswax, which is available through craft stores, with a variety of safe, natural and inexpensive products to create a moisturizing facial cream suitable for all skin types.

Pour 2 tablespoons grated beeswax into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium heat for 30 seconds, or until melted. Pull out the bowl carefully and add 1/3 cup aloe vera gel and 1/4 cup distilled water.

Add 1 teaspoon honey, 3 teaspoons almond oil or extra virgin olive oil and 1/3 teaspoon lanolin. Pour the mixture into a blender. On a medium setting, blend the ingredients for 30-second intervals until well-incorporated.

Pour the mixture into a bowl and add three to five drops of your favorite essential or fragrance oil. Fold the oil into the mixture. Spoon the homemade face cream into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Store the cream in a cool, dry place. Apply a thin layer of the product to your freshly cleaned face in the morning and before bedtime.
