What Is Premature Ejaculation?

Premature ejaculation is a common problem in many young men. It means they orgasm and ejaculate after only a few seconds or minutes when engaged in a sexual situation. However, premature ejaculation can also refer to ejaculating before you want to. That is, you're engaged in sexual intercourse and your partner has not yet reached climax and you accidentally orgasm before you wanted to. However, performing kegels can help to reduce instances of premature ejaculation.

What is a Kegel?

A kegel is a kind of exercise that involves contracting and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles. Though typically associated with women and attempts to tighten the vaginal muscles, men can perform kegels as well in order to achieve harder erections, control when they ejaculate and experience more pleasurable orgasms.

Finding the Right Muscles

One of the most important aspects of performing kegels is locating the right muscles to exercise. A good way to locate them is to stop the flow of urine the next time you go to the bathroom. This isn't how you should perform the exercises all the time, but if you're able to stop the flow of urine, you've found your pelvic floor muscles, which means you can go on to perform kegels at will.

Performing Kegels

To perform kegels, simply contract your pelvic floor muscles and hold it for several seconds. Five seconds is a good number when starting out. Then relax the muscle. Contract the muscle again, hold it, then relax. Repeat them several times each day. You can do kegels anywhere and at anytime. No one will be able to see you doing them, giving you the freedom to exercise while waiting in line at the bank or sitting at your desk at work. Slowly increase the number of repetitions you do at a time. Within a few weeks of regular exercise, you should notice an improvement in premature ejaculation and better, more intense orgasms.
