Sheryl Huggins Salomon
Sheryl Huggins Salomon has spent her career arming people with information to improve their wellbeing and prospects in life. Prior to her career as a health journalist, Sheryl was managing editor of TheRoot.com, editorial director of NewsOne.com, managing editor of AOL Black Voices and the publisher of Shade Magazine. She was also co-editor of The Nia Guide series of women’s self-help books (2004-2005, Agate Publishing) that included Choosing Health and Wellness. Her passions include running, fitness and healthy living. Health setbacks in 2012, including a doctor’s warning that she was developing diabetes, led Sheryl to transform her relationships with food and exercise and inspired her to complete two marathon races: Chicago (2014) and New York City (2015). These experiences inform her writing today and drive her commitment to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle over the long term.
