When dealing with the symptoms of menopause, you may be desperate to find a way to stop the hot flashes, irritability and sleep problems. While hormone replacement therapy can help, if you want to combat the problem without the help of your doctor, a more alkalized diet can help reduce some of the symptoms you experience, notes Dr. Susan Lark, author of "Menopause Self Help Book." Trying a richly alkalizing juice packed with healthy vegetables to reduce the acid in your body may help you deal with some of your most bothersome menopause symptoms.
Juice separately enough vegetables to fulfill the following measurements: 8 ounces of carrot juice, 4 ounces of celery juice, 1 ounce of beet juice and 1 ounce of parsley. These vegetables are alkaline and won't raise the acid levels in the body.
Pour each type of juice into a blender, and blend until smooth and combined. Pour the juice into an 8-ounce glass and reserve the excess.
Drink one 8-ounce glass in the morning, Eve Campanelli, a holistic family practitioner in Beverly Hills tells MotherNature.com. Then, reserve the rest of the juice to drink at night.
Continue seeing your health care provider for regular check ups, and inform her of your symptoms. WomensHealth.gov suggests writing them down and keeping a list to take with you to your doctor visit. They even offer you a free tracking form on their website. While juice can help manage some of your symptoms, if you're uncomfortable and juicing doesn't seem to be helping, herbal and hormone therapies can be employed to help you weather menopause.
