Periodontitis is a serious oral disease that affects millions of Americans of all ages.
if left untreated, periodontitis can cause tooth loss and may increase the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and arthritis. Long recognized for its antioxidant properties, grape seed extract is a rich source of proanthocyanidins, or PCOs, which are flavonoids believed to help heal skin ailments, prevent heart disease and improve the health of gums and teeth. Although grape seed extract is believed to be safe for both topical and internal therapies, you should consult your primary care physician if you choose to use the supplement long term.

Step 1

Mix 1 drop of liquid grape seed extract with 3 to 4 oz. of water and stir will with a spoon. Rinse and swish the mixture twice each day to help kill oral bacteria. Gradually increase the dose of extract to no more than 3 drops as you adapt to the taste.

Supplement your diet with a 100mg capsule of grape seed extract each day. Ask your health care professional if you might benefit from increasing the dose to three 100mg doses each day.

Step 3

Purchase a natural toothpaste that contains grape seed extract as an ingredient, or make your own by adding a drop of extract to a baking soda and food grade hydrogen peroxide paste.
