A Sonicare is an electric toothbrush sold by the Philips company. A Sonicare uses a vibrating head that cleans teeth and gums. All models of the Sonicare come with the Easystart feature, where the power of the toothbrush increases gradually over your first 14 uses. Using a Sonicare and its various features -- including resetting the system -- is not complicated.
Place the Sonicare in the charger, with the bottom of the handle securely in place. It takes at least 24 hours of straight charging for it to be ready for use.
Press and hold the power button between two to five seconds while the Sonicare is in the charger if you want to deactivate the Easystart feature. You will hear one beep. Depending on the Sonicare model that you have, you'll need to hold the power button a minimum of five seconds to reactivate, and listen for two beeps.
Place the Sonicare in your mouth, turn it on and begin brushing your teeth. The Smartimer feature will run the toothbrush for two minutes.
Press the power button while you are using it to pause the operation. Press it again to resume and continue where you left off.
Wait 30 seconds after pausing the operation, or place the Sonicare back in the charger to reset the Smartimer feature to the beginning.
Place the Sonicare in your mouth before turning it on to avoid toothpaste flying everywhere. If you have the 700 Sonicare model, push the power off/on button down for two seconds to deactivate the Easy-start feature. Rinse the head of the Sonicare thoroughly after each use.
