Your family can visit the Dunedin Fine Art Center in Dunedin, where your kids can check out the hands-on activities in the David L. Mason Children's Art Museum. Attend special events like Sleep-Over in Space or Wearable Art, as well. At the Dunedin Historical Society and Museum, also in Dunedin, your family can explore more than 2,000 artifacts that teach of the state's history or you can participate in living history programs, where history comes alive. Alternatively, you can go to the Armed Forces History Museum in Largo to get an up-close look at all sorts of military displays in the 50,000 square foot facility. You can even ride inside the Motion Simulation Theatre to feel like you're flying high in the sky.
At the Xtreme Fun Center in Largo, your family can enjoy playing a variety of games in the arcade, compete in a game of laser tag or try to make your way through the robo maze. Or, you could go to the Treasure Island Fun Center, located in Seminole. Your family can enjoy some pizza and play some of the arcade games. In addition, your kids can go on the kiddie rides, play air hockey and trade in their tickets for some prizes at the end of your visit.
Skating or Bowling
Go enjoy a game of bowling with your family at AMF Clearwater Lanes, right in Clearwater. This facility features 50 lanes to bowl on, as well as an arcade where your kids can play some games. You could also take your family roller skating at Super Skate in Largo. Roller skating will give your kids the opportunity to use up some of their excess energy and get some good exercise. When you're finished skating, you can play an arcade game, some air hockey or climb around on the gigantic indoor playground.
In Clearwater, at the Countryside Recreation Center, your family can play basketball in the gym or participate in one of the scheduled activities, like gymnastics, mixed martial arts or yoga. The Long Center is also in Clearwater and features an Olympic size indoor pool where your family can enjoy some water activities, as well as a gymnasium for sports. You could also visit the Highland Recreation Complex in Largo, where your family can play on the huge three story indoor playground or enjoy games in the indoor active gaming room.
