The Best Remedy for a Dry and Flaky Nose and Forehead

Whether you are a skincare-product junkie or prefer to stick to a more basic routine, the problem of dry, flaky skin has plagued virtually everyone at one point in time. Scaly skin patches normally appear on the nose and forehead areas, where unfortunately they seem to stand out the most. Before you purchase expensive products to remove the dead skin from your face, try making a homemade exfoliating scrub. Reaching for a natural scrub recipe can provide skin with superb results without subjecting it to harmful chemicals that could dry it out further. The scrub contains oatmeal, essential oil and other skin-smoothing ingredients, and is one home remedy that could make your skin smooth and flake-free before you know it.

Step 1

Pour 1 teaspoon of honey into a small bowl.

Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of uncooked oatmeal to the honey.

Step 3

Pour 2 teaspoons of lemon juice into the bowl.

Step 4

Add 3 to 4 drops of jasmine essential oil to the mixture, blending the ingredients together with a mixing spoon to form a loose paste.

Step 5

Apply the paste to the desired areas and allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 6

Scrub the paste into the desired area using light circular motions. This step will gently remove the dead skin from your nose and forehead.

Step 7

Rinse the scrub from the skin using warm water and towel dry to remove excess moisture.

Step 8

Apply a lotion appropriate to your skin type to hydrate the newly refreshed skin and keep dry patches at bay.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • Small bowl

  • 2 tablespoons uncooked oatmeal

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • 3 to 4 drops jasmine essential oil

  • Mixing spoon

  • Warm water

If you do not wish to use jasmine essential oil you can use either orange or lavender oils as a substitute. Both of these essential oils contain natural properties that promote healthy skin.
