A gentle exfoliant, or foot scrub, is the best way remove dead, dry peeling skin and to revitalize tired, worn out feet. It isn't necessary to visit a spa or purchase expensive products to enjoy a foot scrub, as you can create your own effective scrub from wholesome, natural ingredients in your kitchen. If the cracks in your feet are deep or if you're diabetic, don't exfoliate your feet without talking to your physician first.

Process 2 tbsp. old fashioned oats or rolled oats in a coffee grinder or blender. Grind the oats until they are the consistency of coarse sand.
Place the ground oats in a mixing bowl. Stir in 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 1 tbsp. natural honey and 2 tbsp. almond oil or olive oil. Stir the mixture until it forms a thick paste. If the mixture is too thin, add more brown sugar or ground oats.
Soak your feet in a basin of water for 10 minutes to soften the feet before exfoliating, suggests the University of New Hampshire Health Services.
Massage the foot scrub gently into your feet, concentrating on dry, flaky or cracked areas. Dry skin will slough off and peel away from your feet. Allow the scrub to remain on your feet for about five minutes to allow the moisturizing qualities of the scrub to penetrate dry, cracked skin.
Rinse the scrub from your feet with warm water, and then pat your feet with a soft towel until until your feet are completely dry. Remember to dry between your toes. Complete the foot scrub by massaging almond oil or olive oil into problem areas.
