Face Mask for Pore Tightening

Large pores are typically caused by excessively oily skin, sun-damaged skin, or -- in many cases -- decreased skin elasticity due to the natural aging process. It is impossible to permanently shrink large pores, but you can minimize their appearance using a variety of home treatments including homemade face masks.

Step 1

Crack the eggs into a small mixing bowl and beat well with a wire whisk. In her book “Natural Skin Care,” Joni Loughran recommends using eggs in pore-tightening face masks. As the eggs dry on the skin, they pull the pores together making them appear smaller and tighter.

Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour to the beaten eggs and whisk again. Continue whisking until the flour has dissolved completely and the mixture is smooth. Set it aside to thicken.

Step 3

Peel a small cucumber, and cut it into 1-inch chunks. Place the cucumber pieces in a blender or food processor and process on medium speed until smooth.

Step 4

Add the egg and flour mixture to the pureed cucumber. Process again on medium speed until all the ingredients are combined.

Step 5

Use the mask immediately and discard any leftovers. Make a new batch for each application for the best results. To use, apply the mixture directly to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with slightly warm water.
