Can You Remove Blackhead Scars?

Blackheads can leave behind dark brown or reddish scars on your skin. Some scars can heal by themselves without any further treatment, but others need some type of treat to get the scars to fade. There are different kinds of scars blackheads and other forms of acne can produce. The are scars with gradual dips and depressions and others with narrow, deep dips. Scars are hard to remove, but there are some ways to help remove scars from blackheads.

Step 1

Drink at least seven to eight glasses of water every day. Drinking lots of water helps your body flush out any toxins, increases your blood circulation and increases your body's wound healing ability.

Step 2

Eat raw tomatoes every day. Eating at least one tomato a day can help your scar healing process. Tomatoes are naturally high in vitamin A, which contains healing properties that help in healing scars from blackheads.

Step 3

Drink at least couple of ounces of lemon juice every day. Lemon juice is high in citric acid, which contains excellent properties for healing acne scars. Drinking more lemon juice can have a stronger effect.

Step 4

Ask your doctor about laser resurfacing as a solution to remove your acne scars. The procedure removes the upper layers of scar tissue while leaving the skin underneath tighter and smoother. The procedure can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to more than an hour to complete.

Step 5

Consult your doctor or dermatologist about the procedure called dermabrasion to remove blackhead scars. Dermabrasion uses a rotating wire brush to wear off the top layers of skin. When the skin heals, a new, softer and smoother layer of skin regrows in place of the old scar tissue.

Things You'll Need

  • Lemon juice

  • Tomatoes

Try the natural methods before resorting to procedures done by a doctor. Laser resurfacing and dermabrasion can be very costly.
