Having loose skin on your finger can be a real pain. Hangnails especially can cause discomfort and can become a real distraction. Taking care of your skin is the best way to prevent a hangnail from coming to fruition, but manicures cost money and chances are you won't remember to use hand lotion on your fingers all the time. In that case, you're going to want to remove the dead, loose skin from your finger the right way, thus preventing further discomfort and possible infection.
Video of the Day
Soak your finger in a small bowl of warm water for a couple of minutes. This will prevent the skin from tearing.
Cut the loose skin from your fingers with the cuticle scissors. Be sure the scissors are sharp so that your skin doesn't snag.
Apply hand lotion to the area from which you clipped the skin.
Continue to apply lotion to your hands at least twice a day to help prevent loose skin from forming around dry skin areas.
