How to Permanently Increase Circulation Naturally
Exercise is one of the most natural ways to increase your blood circulation.

There are many reasons why your blood circulation may not be working at an optimal level. According to the Mayo Clinic, the most common causes are chronic health conditions, such as diabetes or anemia. Problems may also arise from taking certain medications or genetics may play a role in poor circulation. Fortunately, there are several natural remedies to help increase your blood circulation.

Step 1

Use cardiovascular exercise as one of the most natural methods of improving blood circulation. Your heart is a muscle and it pushes blood through your circular system. It supplies your body with energy and oxygen needed to survive and if it is not worked, it becomes weak. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate activity five days per week.

Step 2

Alter your diet to improve circulation. If poor circulation stems from high blood pressure or cholesterol, your arteries have decreased elasticity and are prone to becoming clogged. Take in less sodium like crackers and processed meats, and increase the amount of foods you eat with potassium like bananas. Also, foods high in omega-3 fatty acids like fish and flaxseed help keep your arteries healthy.

Step 3

Stop smoking to improve blood circulation. This also is a precursor to chronic illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, as well as heart attacks. Second-hand smoke can be just as detrimental, so avoid places where this is prevalent. According to the US Food and Drug Administration, blood circulation improves just a month after quitting smoking.
