Bass Ale Nutrition Information

The Bass and Co. Brewery was established in 1777 by William Bass. Its pale ale is marked by the classic red triangle logo, which was the first registered trademark in Britain. The brand is now owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, which owns other popular beers such as Budweiser, Becks and Stella Artois. Bass Ale is an English pale ale with a typical amber color and thick head. Overall, it is comparable to other popular beers in terms of alcohol content and nutrition.

Alcohol Content

Beers generally have an alcohol content of between 4 percent and 8 percent by volume, though this varies depending on location and type of beer. Bass Ale falls in the middle of this range with an alcohol content of 5.5 percent by volume. This is a similar content to a Heineken Lager or a Sierra Nevada Porter.

The caloric content of popular beers does not vary as much as alcohol content. The exception, of course, is light beers, which have significantly fewer calories than normal beers. Regular beers tend to have an average of 150 calories per 12 oz. Bass Ale falls just above this level with 160 calories in 12 oz. This is similar to the calories in a Becks or a Foster's Lager.

The amount of carbohydrates in beer can range from more than 25 g per 12 oz. to less then 3 g per 12 oz. in low carb beers. Again, Bass Ale falls in the middle with about 13 g of carbohydrates in a 12 oz. serving. This is about the same amount as is found in Stella Artois or Corona Extra.

As with almost all other beer, Bass Ale contains no fat. It is also cholesterol free. Keep in mind, however, that it does contain calories from carbohydrates. It may be fat free, but it can still give you a beer belly.

Like most beers, Bass Ale does not contain any vitamins or minerals. It does contain very small amounts of sodium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium, similar to other beers. These amounts are not high enough to significantly contribute to your daily values.
